Junkyard - Junkyard

Another obscure, underrated band. Junkyard were a Heavy Metal/Glam Metal band who are very good but once again never received much commercial attention. This is their debut eponymous album released sometime in June in 1989.

Kicked & Klawed is the debut album for Cats In Boots, a Japanese/American Hair Metal/Sleaze band. The album managed to get to number 3 on the Japanese charts. The album was released sometime in mid 1989. It's a solid album with many good songs but unfortunately wasn't as commercially popular as other albums from more established Hair Metal bands at the time. A Very underrated album which is definitely worth a delve into.

The album managed to go double platinum. The release of this album helped to revive the career of Ted Nugent.

Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast


Iron Maiden, one of the greatest English Metal bands of all time managed to get their first UK number 1 album with their 3rd studio album "The Number Of The Beast" also managing to achieve a platinum certification in the US. The album had 2 singles released for it prior to the album coming out. "Run To The Hills" & "The Number Of The Beast".
Released on March the 22nd in 1982.

ZZ Top - Eliminator

Eliminator is ZZ Top's most successful album, selling over 10 million copies in the US alone. It has earned a rank among the Diamond certified album list. The singles for this album definitely helped towards that, earning a lot of air time ("Legs", "Sharp Dressed Man", "Gimme All Your Lovin'", "TV Dinners" and "Got Me Under Pressure"). The music videos for "Legs", "Gimme All Your Lovin'" & "Sharp Dressed Man" managed to get a lot of play time on MTV.
The image on the album cover is what gives the album its name. The Eliminator, which is a car Billy Gibbons had custom built for him after he asked for a customised 1933 Ford Coupe.
The album was released on the 23rd of March in 1983.

Angel Witch - Angel Witch

The first time I remember hearing of this band was on a game named "Brutal Legend". It featured their song "Angel Witch" (As well as many other songs by other bands, which is awesome!). With the catchy chorus, the sweet little guitar solos and the great lyrics I thought I would investigate this band further and I wasn't disappointed! Since it's release, this album has had 4 different re-issues for different anniversaries. The latest being the 30th. Angel Witch is the debut eponymous album by Angel Witch. It is probably one of the best NWOBHM albums that was released. It was released sometime in 1980 possibly the 1th of March and recorded in February 1980.

Whilst searching around for hidden little gems of music a while back, I came across this album. The first song I listened to was "Island in the Sun" and it instantly got me hooked, enough to buy this album twice. With Graham Bonnet on this album I had a feeling it would be good and it didn't disappoint. Also featuring a young Yngwie Malmsteen definitely added a good feel to this album.
Released in 1983 on October the 15th "No Parole For Rock 'N' Roll" was Alcatrazz's debut album.

Manowar's 5th studio album: Fighting The World was released on the 17th of February in 1987. The artwork was done by Ken Kelly and looks stunning! Since this album he has created all the artwork. It was also the first Heavy Metal album to be recorded and mixed on digital equipment (Apparently). Joey DeMaio wrote all the songs.
